“My guide was Helena and she was AMAZING! I loved everything about her! She was so passionate about everything that she was explaining, she showed us beautiful places that really opened my eyes to the true Bucharest beauty! We walked a lot but every mile was worth it! Even if you don’t like rural art this tour is a must! It makes you think about tons of political issues and my guide, Helena was always ready to listen to your opinion! I totally recommend it!”

Bucharest: Relics of Communism 3-Hour Walking Tour

5.Relics of Communism 3-Hour Walking Tour

★★★★★★★★★★4.9 · 77 reviews · 3 hours · from $44

Walk Bucharest’s communist remnants with an English guide, from Revolution Square and hidden churches to Socialist Realism and Parliament power.

“I'm born and raised in Bucharest, but I took this walking tour for fun with an Argentinian friend. It was very interesting even for me, the guide was very nice and super well prepared with a lot of stories, but even with some real "artefacts" - old communist school books, the pupils' mandatory scarf (a real symbol of communism), photos of old vs new Bucharest, a photographic documentary of the Revolution etc. It was really interesting, and for me also very emotional (I was almost 10 in 1989 so I still remember those times). Highly recommended.”

3-hour large-ship Danube cruise from Orșova to Trajan's Table, Decebal's statue, and caves, with panoramic terrace and audio guide.

“I had originally booked a steamboat tour. However, I arrived two hours before departure, and the tour provider advised me to take a motorboat instead, saying that it would be more enjoyable and that it would be leaving shortly. I decided to do so, sat at the very front outside, and had a wonderful time. The captain was a humorous fellow and shared many stories. I didn't catch much of it, though, because I was sitting outside and my Romanian is very rudimentary at best. There were explanations in English, recorded on tape, as they would have said a few decades ago, but they were very brief. That's one thing…”
