A small-group 3-hour Bucharest walking tour tracing Romania’s communist era through landmark stops, stories, and a snack, in English.

“Brilliant tour! Daniela was incredibly informative and passionate about sharing the stories of the people of Romania — a place where so much is still to be discovered and revealed. The architecture, food, and everyday lives of people, the power structures and their effects — all were presented through fascinating and gripping storytelling with some photos. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bucharest. I now see the city with entirely new meaning. The gorgeous weather was very helpful too, so we can all enjoy the walks and the sunrays on us while learning from Daniela.”

Walk Bucharest’s communist remnants with an English guide, from Revolution Square and hidden churches to Socialist Realism and Parliament power.

“I'm born and raised in Bucharest, but I took this walking tour for fun with an Argentinian friend. It was very interesting even for me, the guide was very nice and super well prepared with a lot of stories, but even with some real "artefacts" - old communist school books, the pupils' mandatory scarf (a real symbol of communism), photos of old vs new Bucharest, a photographic documentary of the Revolution etc. It was really interesting, and for me also very emotional (I was almost 10 in 1989 so I still remember those times). Highly recommended.”

“Wow! I was in Bucharest for a week and did a lot of tours and this was by far the best. I’ve also done tours all over the world and this is easily in my top 3. Let’s start by the tour-fabulous. To get a first hand tour by someone who grew up during communist times and the revolution was eye opening. The host is the same age as me and when she was talking I was thinking how different our lives were. She’s strong, passionate, and just wonderful. Her husband prepared the dinner and it was the best I have had in Romania. Home cooked family style dining in…”
